Full Farm Tour: Dye Farm & Linen Field
$98.00
Visit both of our working farms in one trip - our organic natural dye garden and our linen flax field - for a fuller look at how we grow colour and cloth from the same soil. You'll leave with flowers harvested on the day to take home for your own dyeing.
Venue: Quaifes Road, Halswell + Old Tai Tapu Road
Time: 10:00am - 12:30pm (2.5 hrs)
Dates: Various available
Join us for a delightful walk around our Halswell site, where we grow the plants that bring vibrant colour to our natural dyeing services. You'll get a proper introduction to each plant we cultivate, learning their unique stories, how we nurture them, and what they contribute to the dye pot. We'll harvest some colour for you to take home and use in your own crafts.
We'll then travel down the road to our linen field where we'll share our seed to fibre journey with you, including a demonstration on how we extract the fibre from these plants.
Expect an easy, conversational pace with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Leave with a genuine sense of what it takes to build a textile farm from the ground up!
